I teach quilting classes in shops, as single-day workshops for guilds and other groups, as multi-day workshops for retreats and camps, and online. I also offer private lessons for individuals for $25/ hr. Add up to two friends to your private lesson for an additional $10/ hr. per person. I offer all of the classes described below and will design new classes and lessons to meet your needs. Download 2011 Flyer with workshop descriptions, fee schedule, and policies.
Getting Started Online Are you ready to take your place online? Whether you are planning to enter the marketplace, help run your guild Web site or just establish a showcase for your quilting talents, I will guide you to the correct choice and help you establish your Web presence. Defining your goals will determine whether you choose to enter an established community, start a blog or launch a Web site. I will also show you the best ways to publicize your site. No Web experience or design software is needed, but you should be comfortable with your computer and with navigating online.
In this one-day workshop, use simple piecing techniques and basic bag construction to create a yoga mat bag to tote your mat to and from class. The bag also makes a unique gift for your yogi friends. This class will take you from start to finish, including creating a pocket for keys or your ID, a quilted carrying strap, and a drawstring closure. All levels.
Tired of table runners? In this one-day class, you will learn to make a lavender-filled coaster that will transport you to Provence in July just by putting your hot beverage on it. You will also turn fusible interfacing into journal covers that are individual works of art. Both projects can be whipped up by the dozens as great gifts for friends and family. Simple piecing and machine quilting make this a terrific class for beginners. The unique quilted gifts you will leave with make this a perfect class for any quilter looking for something new.
Exercise your creative problem solving skills and get rid of a UFO with this hands-on class. Bring a stack of blocks from your UFO drawer, a little fabric from your stash, and leave with a finished top (or leave a finished top behind to be donated to charity). Either way, you'll return home with a sense of accomplishment and more space for new fabric. All levels.
